Got a quote from Empire Today for laminate floor ($7900 for 700 sq. ft & carpet stairs). Good or bad price? I also received a quote from another flooring company for $5500, but I'm not crazy about the materials. What is an average price for laminate flooring installed? Anyone use Empire Today? I like that I can do 12 months interest free and I would like to find a place that can offer that.

How much would the flooring cost? about how much would Empire Today charge to buy new hardwood and carpet flooring and have it installed in a 6000 sq foot house. 10 rooms, 3 staircases, and the basement.

Has anyone actually had a good experience with Empire Today? I read all the awful reviews; and I know I'm taking a big chance here; but they offered the best deal for laminate floors and carpet and I actually did have a friend who had a good experience out there. And, I can't imagine if they were THAT awful, they'd still be in business today.

How was your experience using Empire Today? My boyfriend and I will be moving into a new home soon! Our closing date is on October 9th. We're moving into a condo and the sq ft is a little over 1,100sqft. The whole places is carpeted - even the dining room! We are going to have all of the carpets ripped up and have new flooring put in. Empire today advertises that they install the carpets the next day! That is something we really need!! We've got to be living in this place about a week and a half after we buy it. We're going to wait to put our furniture in until after the floors are finished. Any experiences with empire today?

Where is the Best Carpet Installation in Westchester, New York? This is for a large bed room, about 270 sq ft. (26*11). Where is the best carpet installation place in Westchester, New York? I got a quote from a local carpet place in Mt. Kisco, NY. The name is Suburban Floor. Does any one know this store's reputation? They gave me a quote for $1,270, which includes removal the existing carpet and install new carpet, Mohawk brand, Sensational styple, 40 oz synthetic hair and jute padding. Is this a good price? Can I use the existing padding? If I do, the price would reduce by $100. Should I look into other companies such as Empire today, Home Depot and Lows? Any other suggestions? Also, the carpet is about 6 years old. What is the average year that bed room carpet should be replaced?

Home depot for flooring installation? I was going to use Empire Today to do flooring for a condo that I am purchasing (closing on Oct 9th)... I just read a complaint board about them and MANY people were VERY unsatusfied. I'm in North Eastern United States...any carpet/laminate installers you can suggest? Something at a reasonable price (I'm young - 21..I have enough money to do the floors but I dont want to get screwed)...

What is the pros & cons of Laminate hardwood floor compare to engineered one? I've been living with carpet all my life and would love to have a hardwood floor in my new home. However due to limited budget, I could not afford the real hardwood or engineered. I had the Empire Today guy showed me the laminate option and it looks like the real hardwood. According to him it's better because I have an active little boy (6 yrs old) and more durable than hardwood. But I also heard that it could decrease the value of the house, is this true?

What should we do first when moving into our new home? My boyfriend and I are purchasing our first home! The closing date is October 9th. There are so many things that we need to do! We're going to paint the living room & 2 bathrooms, change the locks on the doors, we're having the floors done (new carpet in the upstairs bedrooms/hallway/stairs & laminate hardwood in the livingroom/dining room & laminate ceramic in the kitchen)... We need to get a washer/dryer & living room furniture!!! In what order should we do all of these things? This was my plan, let me know what you think: Thursday after closing buy painting & cleaning supplies as well as new locks. Do all the painting prep (tape, patching anything that might need to be patched), change the locks, & clean/disinfect the kitchens and bathrooms. On that thursday we were thinking about havnig Empire Today come out and give us a price estimate, and we were going to plan on having them come out on Monay to do the floors....giving us the weekend to do painting (it would be silly to paint AFTER we get the new floors)... We were also going to go to the appliance/furniture stores on that weekend and order our washer/dryer & couch. Any suggestions??
