What rug cleaner can I use to clean delicate and/or antique/oriental rugs?
I wouldn't want a commercial chemical cleaner on these rugs, such as the ones you spray and vacuum...OR are they OK to use?

- You may want to have a professional company take your rugs and clean them and drop them off....
- Professional cleaning: If you live in area that you do have access to Oriental Rug dealers let them wash your rug. They should charge you anywhere from $1-$2 per Square feet for the cleaning fee... You can check the website listed below....They give info on self cleaning....... Having cleaned mine myself decided to have it done professionally the next time....It is not an easy job.
- If you can still find it there is a granule like cleaner called Glamorene, may have to do a web search to find it.
- THIS IS THE BEST TOOL EVER! For highly specialized fragile/delicate antique carpets, you want to use the absolute least invasive formulas possible to spot clean. http://rugrag.com/StainRemoval.aspx and select any one of dozens of possible stains. I think you'll have really good luck with any of these procedures, I can't tell you how many crazy things it's helped us with from our $8300 kashan to our basement wall-to-wall. DON'T purchase the all in one cleaners, they're really created to blanket as many possible stains as possible. if you want the best results, use the stain tool above, it's custom tailored to your specific stain. Its really intended for even the finest of Persian rugs, but I use this on our wall to wall carpeting downstairs too. Simply outstanding, and the advise on the web site is by far the authority in any rug field
