  1. There are many parrot, hook-bill and breed specific chat groups on Yahoo groups, There are cockatoo groups on webring and several breeders have web-sites. Many recommend clean cedar shavings among other bedding.
  2. You didn't mention the breed of Cockatoo...however, IF you are wishing for them to breed, simply supply an extended breeding box...then let the birds themselves make the nesting area...offering many types of wood materials/cardboard & similar stuff will give the male the opportunity to do what nature intended. Hopefully you will choose NOT to breed...so many cockatoo's struggle to remain in homes nowadays. With their long life line of nearly 40 -80 years...you can imagine how many birds live miserable confined lives shifted from one place to another. Cockatoos require great deals of attention...specific care & great patience & knowledge....PLEASE visit some bird sites or bird groups within Yahoo groups OR www.birdboard.com...there you wil meet many feather-loving people who can guide & advise you appropriately...some may be breeders as well as many have feathered ones as family members. Take care~
