What is the best company to pay to come clean carpets?
I am moving into a home who's previous tenants had a puppy that never left the house.. it smells terribly.. id like to pay to have carpets professionally cleaned.(it is being taken off my rent) I am just tryin to move in asap.. but id like it to smell good!! The carpets were brand new good quality when the other tenant moved in. its been only 6 months.. is it worth steaming them? will that remove the smell? anyone have experience with this?

- Yes it's worth it. Rug Doctor and Stanley Steemer are good companies. Ask your landlord his/her advice also for getting the smells out. If they're not helpful just call some carpet cleaning companies and get some advice and some quotes. It's worth taking care of this carpet because it's new.
- Word to the wise, I would NOT use Chem Dry because they spray a foam and then use a big machine that has a spinning wheel with dry pads to get the foam off of your carpet. The carpet did not look too much better than before they cleaned it.
- Check your local BBB to check about local companies. Your county builders assoc will have qualified people. Who ever you get get one that is a certified cleaner. One that will adhere to carpet companies way of cleaning carpet.
