You can, but I would not use your own -- go to a laudramat. It makes a mess in the washer when you are done. Lots of sand/gravel is embedded in those things.
Hang them on the clothesline or a fence. Spray with ''Fantastic spray cleaner'' or ''Windex'' window cleaner. Then hose off (or use a jug or a pitcher of water). Leave them hang until dry (or until they stop dripping, then put them back in the car with the heat on).
