How can I get my cat to stop urinating on my carpets?

My cat is 7 years old and just started urinating (& occasionally deficating) on my carpets. She doesn't have a health problem and does use the litterbox on occasion.

2. Have you had a recent change in your home? A new member of the family, new furnature... something like it? Such actions are usually signs that she is upset. Wait for her until she has finished, then praise her abundantly when she does. 3. Give her a lot of love and praise and play time. She may be just trying to have you pay more attention to her.

5. have you taken her to the vet to rule out a urinary tract infection or medical problem. that would be the first step second step go to the pet store and get some nature's miracle it's in a white bottle with red lettering, spray that on all areas that your cat goes. if it continues lock her in a small room with the litter box and some water and she will learn that she will have to use the box or she will have to live in her waste.
6. Every single time I saw my cat peeing, I gently took him and put his head close to that area, and then I put him to his ''peeing basket''. It may seemed a little cruel, but it's not. It's a fastest way to teach older cat tat stuff. :)

8. try to re-train you cat by takeing it's paw and dragging it accross the litter
